Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
Duration 8 Weeks
Face to Face Session
Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is the qualification you need to become a fully qualified Assessor.
It qualifies you to assess learner’s competency in their place of work and their vocational knowledge in learning environments. Upon completion of the CAVA course, you will be a fully qualified assessor in your area of expertise.
This assessor course is an industry standard qualification. Whether you’re looking to become an Electrical Engineering Assessor; Early Years Assessor; Business Admin Assessor, or any other vocational assessor, the assessor qualification you need is the same – the CAVA.
GLH (Guided Learning Hours): 84 | TQT (Total Qualification Time): 150 hours
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement consists of 3 units. These are:
Understanding The Principles and Practices of Assessment
This unit is entirely knowledge based, and covers all of the theory behind the role and responsibilities of an Assessor. You will complete this entire unit via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Alongside our variety of learning resources available on our VLE, you will also have unlimited tutor support.
Assess Occupational Competence in The Work Environment
This unit requires the trainee assessor (you) to carry out two assessments, on two learners each. We guarantee that we can provide you with the learners to assess for this. For this unit, you will be required to attend a one-day session at one of our offices in London.Â
Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
Finally in this unit, you will be required to carry out another two assessments on the same two learners that we can guarantee your access to. As this unit involves you carrying out knowledge-based assessments, it is also delivered online like Unit 1.
There are no formal entry requirements for the CAVA course. However, we highly recommend you have evidence of occupational competence in the area you wish to assess in. This can be evidenced through accredited qualifications or 3+ years of work experience in your sector.
You can enrol on this Assessor course at any time throughout the academic year. As with all of our courses at Presidency London College, we don’t have set start and end dates. This means you can get started straight away, and finish as and when you need to. You will work through the vast majority of your course via our online learning system.
